There is a promo for Oprah's show out there inferring that she and Stedman have a child. I saw it earlier this week, and as a former TV promo queen, there was no doubt in my mind that it was a publicity tease. I mean really... there is no way she has a child. Oprah has demonstrated her ability to be an open book about her past. If she had children we'd have known about it... a long time ago!
Why would the show put out a promo like this? Well... it is MAY. (TRANSLATION: Sweeps / ratings period). The promo did exactly what it was supposed to do: It gave Oprah tons of press. No surprise. She's the queen. If it works, kudos to her promotion people for thinking of it. It will be interesting to see how many additional viewers actually tune in because of it.
